If your boiler is unreliable, inefficient, or simply past its best, a new boiler installation can make day to day life a lot easier. RAPH Services installs new boilers across Preston and the surrounding areas, with a proper survey, a clear quote, and an installation that is safe, compliant, and tidy. The challenge is that boiler choices feel like a minefield, combi vs system, sizing, controls, and cost, this means that we explain it properly and help you choose what suits your home.

New boiler installation in Preston

What’s included in a new boiler installation

  • We ask about your property size, number of bathrooms, water pressure, and how you use heating day to day, then recommend the right boiler type, combi, system, or heat only. If you are not sure what you have now, do not worry, we will guide you through it in plain English.

  • The price depends on boiler type, whether pipework needs changing, flue positioning, condensate routing, controls, and the condition of the existing system. We do not guess, we price properly based on the job, and we are clear about what is included so you can compare quotes fairly.

  • A proper installation is more than swapping a box on the wall, we plan the work carefully and make sure everything is safe, compliant, and working as it should. That includes correct pipework connections, controls, testing, and a clear handover so you know how to use the system. If anything needs changing to do it right, we explain why before work starts.

  • We start with a quick chat and initial questions, complete a survey if needed to confirm the best option, then provide a clear quote with what is included. Once booked in, we complete the work, test everything, tidy up, and do a walkthrough at the end, so you feel confident in what you have paid for.

  • We can help with ongoing boiler servicing and maintenance, so your system stays reliable long term, and if you ever have questions about controls or settings you can get in touch.

  • Most installations are carried out in Preston, but we also work across Leyland, Chorley, Blackburn, Burnley, Bolton, Wigan, Warrington and Southport.

How to choose the right boiler

  • The first thing to consider is how much heating and hot water your household needs. Smaller homes with one bathroom often suit a combi boiler, while larger homes or busy households may need a system or conventional boiler to cope with higher demand. If hot water is likely to be used in more than one place at once, this usually points away from a standard combi and towards a system or conventional setup.

  • A combi boiler heats water on demand and does not need a separate tank or cylinder, which makes it a popular choice for UK homes. It is usually the most efficient gas boiler type because it only heats the water you need, when you need it, and it is especially useful where space is limited. The trade-off is that water pressure can drop if multiple taps or showers are used at the same time, so it is generally better suited to smaller properties and lower hot water demand.

  • A system boiler works with a hot water cylinder, so it can supply hot water to multiple taps at the same time more effectively than a combi. That makes it a strong option for larger households, especially where more than one bathroom is in regular use. You do need space for the cylinder, and once the stored hot water is used up, the system needs time to reheat.

  • A conventional boiler uses both a hot water cylinder and a cold water tank, making it a practical option for properties with low mains water pressure. It can also be a sensible choice in older homes with existing traditional heating setups, especially if you are replacing like for like. The downside is that it needs more space, has more separate components, and stored hot water can run out if demand is high.
